Style Sheet for Book Interior Design – Ebooks

  1. Use the Garamond font
  2. Do not include any ISBN’s. All ebook publishers – Kindle, the Nook, Kobo, and the rest assign their own identification number so ISBN’s are redundant.
  3. Most eBook distributors like Amazon allow a potential buyer to download a free sample of the book. That usually amounts to 10% of the book. Therefore, so that a potential reader can see a sample of the content of the book, preliminary pages that are normally found in print editions comprise too much space and should not be placed at the beginning. The order of pages for eBooks should be as follows:
    1. Cover
    2. Title
    3. Subtitle
    4. Author
    5. Copyright
    6. Publisher logo
    7. Table of Contents (with hyperlinks to the appropriate place in the book)
    8. Introduction (if any)
    9. Chapter 1, 2, and so on
    10. Author’s bio
    11. Links to extra material (if any)
    12. Links to the publisher’s website, to the author’s website, to ThePracticalLeader.com, and others as indicated in the manuscript
  4. We may send you a manuscript for the print edition but expect you to rearrange the content to match the above listed order of pages.
